Instructions

We use the camera on your phone or tablet to recognize the wall surface before virtually hanging the picture for you. Once mounted, you can move about the room and the image will obey perspective as if it’s actually hung on the wall.

Here are some tips to ensure that you have a great art viewing experience:

Lighting

Make sure there’s plenty of light falling on the wall to help your camera “see” it better.

Scanning

Point your camera at the target area where you want to hang the picture and slowly waive it back and forth. If the picture is not mounting after 3-4 seconds, try a vertical circular motion (up/down plane) keeping the camera pointed toward the area. If that’s not working, try moving closer or farther back.

Foreground

If there are furnishings or other objects in view it can confuse the camera and the art will be mounted to them rather than the wall. Avoid this by moving in close enough so that only the wall is visible on your screen. Once hung, you can step back and view the art from anywhere in the room. If the picture does become mismounted, exit the experience and start over.

Blank Space

You may be seeking to fill an empty space with a new art purchase. When this space is a blank wall, many cameras have difficulty identifying where the surface is. Surfaces with wall paper, paneling, stucco or existing art aren’t problematic, but plain painted walls may result in your virtual picture never mounting.

If there is an existing picture, window, drapes, wainscoting or other objects on the same wall surface:

    • Point the camera at the existing detail and mount the picture onto it.
    • Step back so there is some floor and/or ceiling visible to the camera.
    • Place your finger on the art image on your screen; then move the camera view to the intended space; then release your finger. The picture will stay mounted in the blank space.

If the wall space has no existing features to perform the initial mount upon, use masking tape to affix a newspaper or magazine page in the exact spot where you want to hang the art. Simply point your camera at it and the virtual art will cover the page when mounted. Slide the art into position with your finger.

Rotated Picture

If your camera gets confused and the art shifts to a skewed angle, exit the experience and start again
